According to gasworld US Edition, February 2026, “Today, smaller, modular ASUs are increasingly common, particularly for onsite supply. In 2024, Linde secured a record number of new small onsite projects for nitrogen and oxygen supply, highlighting a broader shift toward assets that can be deployed faster and tailored more closely to customer needs.” [1] The same report notes, “Speed is now also a key advantage. While large ASUs can take several years to build and commission, smaller onsite units are typically operational within nine to 15 months.” [2]
For industries facing tight schedules and volatile energy markets, this speed-to-market advantage is decisive. Vacuum pressure swing adsorption (VPSA) and pressure swing adsorption (PSA) technologies offer a compelling alternative to traditional cryogenic air separation. Unlike large-scale ASUs, VPSA oxygen generators and PSA nitrogen generators operate at ambient temperatures with significantly lower energy footprints and can be scaled to meet specific flow and purity requirements.
LifenGas has developed a comprehensive portfolio of PSA and VPSA systems designed for modern industrial needs. Our VPSA oxygen generators deliver 90% to 95% oxygen concentration for applications ranging from wastewater treatment to metal cutting. Our PSA nitrogen generators produce nitrogen at purities up to 99.999%, ideal for electronics manufacturing, food packaging, and chemical blanketing. Both product lines are available in containerized configurations for rapid deployment and remote operation.
As reshoring, electrification, and data center growth reshape demand patterns, the need for agile, efficient gas generation will only grow. LifenGas is proud to deliver the engineering and technology that put gas production where it belongs: at the point of use.
