On December 5, 2022, the Shanghai Lianfeng and Baotou Meike Phase II argon recycling projects were successfully implemented and tested after commissioning. The core technology of the project is pioneered by Shanghai Lianfeng in the world, with high equipment extraction rate, low energy consumption and international leading advantages, providing a guarantee for large-scale production of photovoltaic crystalline silicon, which can greatly reduce the cost of solar power generation, enhance the core competitiveness of China's photovoltaic industry, and fill the technical gap in China's solar photovoltaic crystalline silicon production field. This project has upgraded the equipment, reduced the cost of argon, and improved the competitiveness of the company. It is of great significance to improve the low-carbon environment, which is a national imperative.
Argon is an inert gas mainly used as a shielding gas in the industry. In recent years, with the rising price of argon, argon has always accounted for a large proportion of the production cost of solar photovoltaic industry and other industries, so reducing the cost of argon usage is the key to improving the competitiveness of enterprises. In response to this phenomenon, in 2016, Shanghai Lianfeng innovatively designed a large-scale argon recovery equipment in single-crystal furnaces in the photovoltaic industry, which is a pioneering work in the world and has independent intellectual property rights. It is reported that Shanghai Lianfeng's argon recovery equipment occupies most of the market, and the total amount of argon recovered has accounted for 50% of the national argon consumption, which supports the green development of the photovoltaic industry, solves the "argon bottleneck" of photovoltaic expansion, and enables the rapid expansion of the photovoltaic industry.
