The 100,000 m³/day High-nitrogen Natural Gas (NG) Liquefaction Project in Xinjiang Aksu Successfully Met Product Requirements

Recently, the 100,000 m³/d vehicle-mounted NG liquefaction project successfully met full product requirements and exceeded specifications, marking a breakthrough milestone for the company in high-nitrogen, complex component NG liquefaction technology and mobile equipment, opening a new chapter in wellhead vehicle-mounted skid installation.

This project is located in Aksu, in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. It uses high-nitrogen wellhead gas (with a significantly higher nitrogen content than conventional gas sources) as its raw material. Through a customized pretreatment process and an efficient liquefaction process, the project has successfully increased its daily processing capacity to over 100,000 Nm³. The project features a modular, vehicle skid-mounted design. The purity and output of the liquefied natural gas (LNG) products meet the design specifications. This design offers advantages such as rapid deployment, flexible migration, and efficient production, providing innovative solutions for developing unconventional natural gas resources. Currently, the device is operating stably and has officially entered production.

Compared with traditional LNG plants, this project set a new record for commissioning of LNG projects of the same scale in China. It took only one month from the time the equipment was transported to the site to commissioning, and only 12 days from the time the raw gas supply began to full commissioning. This demonstrates the technical strength in the field of modular LNG liquefaction. After commissioning, operation was stable, and all indexes reached an industry-leading level. The project’s technical lead said, The successful application of this technology fills the market gap for domestic mobile LNG liquefaction equipment and can be used in shale gas, coalbed methane, and oilfield associated gas scenarios in the future.

The project adopted advanced liquefaction technology to convert natural gas (NG) resources that were originally difficult to utilize effectively into liquefied natural gas (LNG) products that are easy to store and transport. A clean energy supply network covering the southern Xinjiang region has been built through flexible and efficient vehicle skid-mounted methods. This innovative model solves the problem of natural gas (NG) supply in remote areas and plays an important role in peak load regulation and supply during the winter peak gas consumption period, providing a solid guarantee for regional energy security. Implementing the project has revitalized local natural gas resources and reduced carbon emissions through clean energy substitution. This achieves a win-win situation of economic and ecological benefits and provides a new model for the high-quality development of Xinjiang’s energy industry.
